Plastic 03:13
Will we ever see eye to eye You’re never wrong and neither am I Use your words to attack Push me away so I push back Your love is like plastic When it burns it’s toxic Now I know what I couldn’t see Your love is bad for me It’s always me who bends for you I tow the line that pulls you through Where were you when I needed my friend Now I know just where I stand
2.
I’m grieving for a path that I chose not to take A privileged choice that comes with heartache Waiting for so many years, to feel differently But time has proven that life is not for me And everyday I apologize And I’m tired of being sorry It’s a promise I never made So why am I the one who pays. Hands and Eyes Hands and eyes And in my dreams at night, you leave me behind And I can’t help but fear it’s a matter of time You’ve said repeatedly that I’m enough for you And you know in the end we will pull through

Vituperator 02:19
Gonna stab you in the back Shove your face in the dirty crack Gonna put you down So you know your worth when their not around Pushed out slammed down knocked out again He’s not she’s not they’re not your friend Pushed out slammed down knocked out again He’s not she’s not they’re not your friend Gonna show you what it means To wear bruises and some broken teeth Gonna throw you to the floor You know better but keep coming back for more
4.
Don’t don’t think about it Toss it aside It’s someone else’s problem Not yours or mine Don’t don’t worry about it Burry it six feet down It’s someone else’s problem We won’t be around Let it rot Let it fume It’s not an afterthought But a point of view Build it up to tear it down One more brick on the tomb Chemistry of Decay
5.
For thirty years I felt your love from afar Now I don’t even recognize who you are I wish I didn’t know about the hate in your heart Was it always there from the start Always looking back Glorify the past Searching for yearning for A life that never existed Could you see past all of our differences then Or have I always been too strange to understand I’m still holding on after all these years But I feel your love slowly disappear Years of grief linger on Waiting for relief to come It’s not blood that binds us But a slow death that ties us

about

Razor Cake: Theresa W/September 26th, 2019

I love all this dark-edged stuff coming out of Chicago. It’s urgent and just loose enough to feel like it can bring you solace, even when Christine Wolf is lamenting a nagging sense that you made a wrong decision somewhere back there or that someone you knew once is now a complete stranger. Some of the songs have some more basic, classic punk-inspired riffs which work fine and do the trick. But these folks really shine on tracks like “Hands and Eyes” where the post-punk really comes out, both slightly dissonant and symphonic where the depth of Wolf’s range is on full display. That song is who the young me who loved Veruca Salt has grown into. –Theresa W. (Self-released)
